Danielle + Jimmy Engagement

I have to start off by saying "great job" to Danielle and Jimmy. Not only did they pick a wonderful location for a shoot, they also couldn't have picked a more beautiful day to go there. They chose the scenic Liberty State Park in Jersey City because that is where the two of them like to meet up for lunch; how cute is that? Danielle and Jimmy are one of the nicest couples that I have had the pleasure to work with and I think that that cheerful and playful nature really came through in their photos.

I hope that you two enjoy this little preview of your shoot and I wish you the best as you prepare for your wedding day:

Nicole + Austin Wedding

Well, the first wedding of the year was certainly a fun one! The attitude of this wedding was evident through the wedding color choices, unique venue, and joyful spirits of the bride and groom. Between the groom's sweet dance moves and the bride's frequent smiling and laughter throughout the day (minus a few tears of joy, of course), it wasn't very difficult to capture the lively nature of this wedding. To be honest, even the goofy, non-smiling faces look pretty awesome too - see for yourself below. Congrats again to you, Nicole & Austin; I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek into your special day and I can't wait until you get the chance to look through the rest of the photos!

Kelly + Josh Wedding

In late December and early January we often spend some time reflecting over the past year and its impact on our lives. One of my absolute favorite things from the past year (and definitely something that was a big impact on my life) I'll be sharing on the blog today.

Last year Josh and I embarked on a grand adventure both in the literal and figurative sense. We set off to not only travel our way up and down the west coast (something I'm sure I will eventually post some photos of on here as well) but also to become husband and wife.

We said "I do" surrounded by our close family in a beautiful location by Muir Beach & Muir Woods in California. To continue the personalized & intimate feeling, we wrote our own vows, made the bouquet from flowers we picked at the San Francisco flower market, had our siblings involved in the ceremony, and we collected trinkets from our travels and incorporated them into the sand ceremony that featured sand from the local beach.

Upon returning home, we happily celebrated with friends and family. We threw a vintage garden party complete with costumes, an outdoor photo booth, and personalized yard games like fish bowl toss, ring toss, cornhole, and a giant lawn version of jenga. We set up a popcorn bar, trail mix bar, and smores area in honor of some of our favorite snacks. Vintage postcards from California were used as our sign in book and I made vintage photographs of the guests as their favors.

Also, remember those two kids (i.e. us) who were crazy enough to photograph their own engagement shoot? Well, we took things to a whole new level by photographing these days as well... definitely crazy, definitely worth it.

If any family or friends are reading this, I want to again thank you for celebrating with us and being a part of a very special time in our lives.

Andrea + Matt Wedding

You may remember Andrea and Matt from a while back when they had their vintage music themed engagement shoot among the beautiful autumn woods. We were so glad to be there, recently, when they carried that theme on to their actual wedding day. The bride & groom had a last minute venue change but they didn't let that deter them, picking a building in one of their favorite locations that was full of striking architecture & decor to host their day instead - truly a lucky discovery. An even luckier find, one that is evident in the many smiles on their faces, is the happiness these two have found with one another.
