Kelly + Josh Wedding

In late December and early January we often spend some time reflecting over the past year and its impact on our lives. One of my absolute favorite things from the past year (and definitely something that was a big impact on my life) I'll be sharing on the blog today.

Last year Josh and I embarked on a grand adventure both in the literal and figurative sense. We set off to not only travel our way up and down the west coast (something I'm sure I will eventually post some photos of on here as well) but also to become husband and wife.

We said "I do" surrounded by our close family in a beautiful location by Muir Beach & Muir Woods in California. To continue the personalized & intimate feeling, we wrote our own vows, made the bouquet from flowers we picked at the San Francisco flower market, had our siblings involved in the ceremony, and we collected trinkets from our travels and incorporated them into the sand ceremony that featured sand from the local beach.

Upon returning home, we happily celebrated with friends and family. We threw a vintage garden party complete with costumes, an outdoor photo booth, and personalized yard games like fish bowl toss, ring toss, cornhole, and a giant lawn version of jenga. We set up a popcorn bar, trail mix bar, and smores area in honor of some of our favorite snacks. Vintage postcards from California were used as our sign in book and I made vintage photographs of the guests as their favors.

Also, remember those two kids (i.e. us) who were crazy enough to photograph their own engagement shoot? Well, we took things to a whole new level by photographing these days as well... definitely crazy, definitely worth it.

If any family or friends are reading this, I want to again thank you for celebrating with us and being a part of a very special time in our lives.

Kelly + Brian Wedding

We were recently fortunate enough to document Kelly & Brian's big day. Their celebrations consisted of a church ceremony followed by a reception at the beautiful Stroudsmoor Country Inn, located on top of a mountain. I think it is obvious from the following photos that not only were they blessed to have one another, but also to have such a fun group of friends and family in their wedding party.

Speaking of the wedding party, I'd like to note that the sweet shoes and sunglasses that they are sporting were actually gifts from the bride and groom themselves. This lively and close-knit atmosphere carried on long into the night, where practically everyone could be found on the dance floor having a great time with one another.

Congrats again to Kelly & Brian. We wish you all the best on your new life together:
